In late September 2025, President Trump announced the deployment of about 200 federalized Oregon National Guard troops to protect the ICE facility in Portland's South Waterfront neighborhood amid protests. Oregon and the City of Portland sued. This page tracks the military-deployment fight, which turns on 10 U.S.C. 12406 and the Tenth Amendment.
