Privacy Policy

BrynoDC is an independent legal news and education operation. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers brynodc.com and its subdomains, the BrynoDC newsletter, and the BrynoDC applications, including the application we use to manage the BrynoDC YouTube channel.

Effective date: July 31, 2026

Information we collect on this website

Page analytics. We collect basic, privacy-respecting usage data: the page you visited, a timestamp, and a random session identifier that is not tied to your name or account. We use this to understand what coverage is useful. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent any visitor data to anyone.

Subscriber accounts and newsletter. If you subscribe or sign in, we store your email address and use it to deliver the newsletter and provide subscriber access. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and you can ask us to delete your address entirely.

Case submissions. If you submit a case tip, we store what you send us so we can evaluate and cover it.

Google user data and the BrynoDC YouTube application

BrynoDC operates an internal application that connects to YouTube through Google's OAuth sign-in. Its only purpose is to manage the BrynoDC YouTube channel on behalf of the channel owner who authorizes it.

What it accesses. With the authorizing account's permission, the application can upload videos, read and edit video details such as titles, descriptions, and tags, read channel and video information, and view channel analytics for that account's own channel.

How that data is used. Data obtained from Google APIs is used solely to operate and manage the authorizing account's own YouTube channel: publishing videos, correcting and updating video metadata, and reviewing the channel's performance. It is not used for advertising, is not used to build profiles of any person, and is not used for any purpose unrelated to managing the channel.

Storage and security. OAuth credentials and any data retrieved from Google APIs are stored on private, access-controlled systems operated by BrynoDC. They are not published, not stored on public servers, and are accessible only to the BrynoDC team members who manage the channel.

Sharing. We do not sell Google user data, we do not share it with third parties, and we do not transfer it to anyone else, except as required to comply with applicable law.

Limited Use disclosure. BrynoDC's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

YouTube API Services. The application uses YouTube API Services. By authorizing it, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Revoking access. You can revoke the application's access to your Google account at any time from the Google security settings page. Revoking access immediately invalidates the stored credentials.

Data retention and deletion

We keep OAuth credentials only while they are needed to manage the channel, and we keep analytics and subscriber data only as long as it serves the purposes described above. To request deletion of any data we hold about you, including data obtained through Google APIs, email us at the address below and we will delete it.

Children

Our website and applications are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
