NRC to adopt fixed 18-month deadline for new reactor construction approval and 1-year deadline for existing reactor operations.
Sec. 4 Risk-Based Regulations
NRC to transition from prescriptive to risk-informed performance-based regulatory approach.
Sec. 5 Reforming and Modernizing the NRC's Regulations
NRC working with DOGE, OMB, and agencies to conduct wholesale revision of regulations; issue NPRM within 9 months and final rules within 18 months.
